FBR member Raana trains WHT agents on IRIS

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) member IT Raana Ahmad on Monday held a seminar on Withholding Tax Module Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS).and trained the withholding tax agents of the Large Taxpayers Unit and Regional Tax Office- II.

A large number of companies, that are being dealt by LTU, RTO-I and chief commissioners participated in the seminar.

Others who attended the seminar,  including LTU Chief Commissioner Chaudhry Safdar, Lahore Tax Bar Association President Munsha Sukhara and General Secretary  Ch Qamaruz Zaman .

The member IT said that monthly statement will be filed by the withholding companies through new system of “IRIS” which will be launched by August 31, 2015.

She said that after the launch of  new system both withholding agents and FBR IT officials will have to go through various odds situations which would extend both the sides an opportunity to learn about the system new system.

She also disclosed that withholding agents will also be facilitated by giving them access to the FBR system that will provide them half complete returns under the new system of ‘IRIS.

On the occasion, she also urged the chief commissioners to audit the withholding agents who have been filing nil tax returns.
