KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has completed preparations to act against tax defaulters.
It has been suggested to double withholding tax on utility bills of tax defaulters and non-registered businesses. Another suggestion was to increase tax from 0.3 percent to 0.5 percent. Tax defaulters will have to pay 2 percent special excise duty on real estate, 17 percent on textile products, 1 to 2 percent on imports and local productions. Tax will be increased for associations, individual businessmen and those who did not pay tax under the head of investment.
