FBR suspends perks, privileges of IO Munir Chandio

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has suspended the perks and privileges being claimed by the Intelligence Officer, Intelligence and Investigation-FBR Hyderabad under charges of inefficiency and misconduct.

According to sources, the disciplinary proceedings under Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973 were initiated against Munir Ahmed Chandio, Intelligence Officer, Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation FBR Hyderabad vide charge sheet dated 5.8.2014.

The FBR appointed Zaheer Abbas, Deputy Director, Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation FBR Islamabad as Inquiry Officer to conduct inquiry on account of various acts of omission and commission committed by the accused officer constituting “Inefficiency & Misconduct”.

Whereas the inquiry officer submitted inquiry report dated 8.11.2016 according to which the charges of inefficiency and misconduct was established against the accused officer. A show cause notice was issued to the accused officer dated 18.11.2016 and he was also called for personal hearing by the authorized officer on 25.1.2017.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has suspended two officials of the Model Customs Collectorate MCC Appraisement West following several complaints falling under the jurisdiction of “efficiency and misconduct”.

According to sources, in exercise of powers conferred under Rule 5(1) of the Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules 1973, the Competent Authority has placed Qamar Jamal, Appraising Officer BS-16 Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement West under suspension with immediate effect for a period of three months.
