FBR to grill operator of fake Facebook page ‘FBR Times’ for using FBR’s name

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Tariq Bajwa has taken strict notice of the operations of a Facebook page deceitfully using the name of the FBR, and decided to lodge a case against its owner/operator under the cyber-crime law.

The FBR chairman also expressed the bureau’s complete dissociation from the Facebook page, saying that such elements were committing the crime by using the name of FBR.

The FBR has also cleared that write-ups being published on this page named as ‘FBR Times’, pertaining to FBR did not have any link with us, adding that FBR has only one page on Facebook to aware the youth about tax which was updated from time to time.

While, FBR’s department concerned has also prepared written complaint to register with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), demanding the stern action against the accused involved in such activities and for blocking this page.

The FBR has also requested the public to inform the department if they found any suspicious activities on social media in this regard.
