LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has not yet assigned the revenue target for the third quarter of current fiscal year 2014-15 to the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Lahore.

Sources informed Customs Today, earlier, per annum revenue targets were assigned to all regional offices but during current Fiscal Year FBR is assigning quarterly targets to field offices. He said that such kind of strategy might be adopted to increase or decrease the revenue target of different cities according to their potential and to chase the target of 2014-15.

He also revealed that target for third quarter has not been assigned to RTO Lahore that could create hurdles for the regional office to draw plan regarding the achievement of the target.

On the other hand, FBR has generated almost Rs 136 billion revenue during January 1-23, 2015, while Rs 115 billion were collected during the same corresponding period of 2014. As whole, from July to January 23 of current fiscal year FBR has collected almost RS 1292 billion.
