The Ferrari F40 has been in production between 1987 and 1992 and it has been put together in just 1,311 units. The supercar was designed by Pininfarina and assembled in Maranello. This was offered in a single body style, a Berlinetta, or a 2-door coupe, with a rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout. The suggested retail price of it stood at 400,000 USD back in 1987 and this had a 2.9 liter twin turbocharged V8 engine under its hood, producing 478 HP (357 kW), enough for the 1,100 kg supercar to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds and to go up to a top speed of 324 km/h (201 mph). This was the first production vehicle to break the 200 mph (320 km/h) barrier.
