FIA arrests three ‘human smugglers’

LAHORE: The FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Cell Lahore on Thursday conducted raids and arrested three alleged human smugglers.

According to FIA spokesman, one Muhammad Irfan of Township Lahore had received Rs3.9 million from complaints on the pretext of sending them to Japan. During a raid, five machine readable passports were recovered from the possession of the accused.

In a campaign against human smugglers, the FIA AHTC Lahore arrested two other human smugglers—Adeel Iqbal of Sheikhupura and Muhammad Aamir of Lahore. They had received Rs175,000 and Rs400,000 from the complainants—Muhammad Javed and Muhammad Qasim, respectively on the pretext of sending them to Dubai and Spain. FIRs have been registered and investigation is in progress.
