HELSINKI: Producer prices for manufactured products went down by an average of 1.2 per cent in June 2015 from the year before, according to Statistics Finland. The producer prices for manufactured products sold on the domestic market went down by 1.7 per cent, while the producer prices of export products fell by 0.5 per cent. The fall in the producer prices for manufactured products was particularly caused by reductions in the prices of oil products and electricity from June 2014.

The fall in producer prices was slowed down especially by higher prices of paper and paper board products. The export price index fell by 0.4 per cent and the import price index by 5.7 per cent in the year. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went down by 2.8 per cent. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply including taxes fell by 2.5 per cent, the data show. Export prices were, in particular, depressed by the falling prices of oil products and iron and steel from June 2014.

The fall in prices was slowed down, in particular, by higher prices of electronic appliances.

Producer prices for manufactured products fell by 0.3 per cent from May to June. The drop was mainly due to lower prices of manufacturing of basic metals compared with the previous month.
