Foreign investment in Denmark creates 1,250 workplaces

COPENHAGEN: The Trade Development Minster Mogens Jensen said that around 1,250 workplaces created after the foreign investment in Denmark last year. French and American companies helped to create jobs in 47 different projects.

Most of the new jobs have been created in the IT, cleantech and pharmaceutical industries. Those industries account for almost 1,000 of the new jobs spread across 29 different projects.

Among the projects, Argentina is investing billions in biogas projects in Tønder, and China’s Wuhan Hi-Tech is supporting organic egg production in Horsens.About two-thirds of the new jobs were created in eastern Denmark, while a third of the new positions are in western Denmark.

The report said that companies are choosing Denmark based on the country’s highly-qualified workforce and strong professional, technical and commercial expertise, flexible labour market regulations, and favourable business environment.
