ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Anti-encroachment Department has launched a campaign against the illegal settlers in G-7/1.
During the drive, the department demolished four illegal-constructed houses along with two cattle pens and other settlements. This area was illegally established after floods in the central Punjab and due to the poor security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, an official of the enforcement department said taking action against the encroachments at G-7/1 had been delayed due to official procedures. They said, “There are objections from various quarters to launching of action against the encroachers as it might invite protests from the slum dwellers.”
