NEW YORK: Google launches Android 5.1.1 OTA update for the Nexus 7 Wi-Fi 2012, 2013, Nexus Player and Nexus devices. Android users can make the new installation of the Lollipop upgrade manually by going through the instructions provided by the Google developers. The search engine giant has come up with instructions for the flashing Nexus factory images.

The updated Android is being introduced to bring improvement and stability in bug fixes and is soon to be made available for the other devices. Most of the users of Nexus 10 have started receiving the updated Android 5.1.1 OTA with a downloading requirement of only 13.9 MB and LMY47V as the build number.

The upgraded Lollipop is expected to add more than just better performance and stability improvements. Apart from fixing bugs, it will also restrict the memory leak problem.

However, the new upgrade does not have any other novel features. Although the update at present is available only for Nexus 10 and couple of Nexus 7 devices along with the Nexus Player, it is expected to be available for other Nexus devices anytime soon.

The first to receive the upgrade after this is expected to be Nexus 9.

Clean Installation is Possible

Lollipop Upgrade factory images have been made available, and the Nexus device users can make a clean installation using these images. Google has especially uploaded these images to ensure that the Nexus device owners find it easier to install the upgrade for their Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 devices.

However, doing clean installation requires the availability of backup data so that the device user does not get into any mess.

So, on the safe side, the users should wait for a few days for the OTA update so that complete knowledge of the flashing the factory images are available manually. Nevertheless, the earlier version of Nexus 5, is still making waves in the market and is available at a feasible deal from StackSocial.
