NEW YORK: Google has finally released the Lollipop factory images for the cellular variants of these tablets. Weeks after the Wi-Fi variants of the Nexus 7 (2013, 2012) tablets got Lollipop OTA as well as factory images.

The factory images are based on Android 5.0.2, so at least the tablets will directly jump to the latest Android version and will not have to go through the whole process of Android 4.4.4 > Android 5.0 > Android 5.0.1 > Android 5.0.2.

With the latest round of factory image release, all the Nexus devices, which were supposed to get Lollipop, have at least got the factory images based on Android 5.0.
