Google to introduce app called ‘Android for Work’, delivers secure mail, calendar, contacts, documents, browsing etc

LONDON: Google will introduce an app called ‘Android for Work’ soon. To make the app a reality Google has joined hands with various networking companies, management firms, Application makers and device manufacturers.

According to Android official blog, this integrated app is like a service ecosystem that has been designed to work within your android devices.

The ‘Android for Work’ app will enable the user to connect with his or her enterprise apps for mail, contacts, calendar and tasks. Full support for Microsoft Exchange and IBM Notes has also been added.

Furthermore, the Android for Work will let you create a secure Work Profile on your Android phone and tablet. This will let you isolate, protect data and manage the flow of work information while keeping only the required people in loop.

Android for Work will also let people use work approved apps right alongside their personal apps while IT administrators will be able to easily manage business data on all android devices.

Key features of Android for Work:

Android for Work app for devices running Ice Cream Sandwich through KitKat. The app, which delivers secure mail, calendar, contacts, documents, browsing and access to approved work apps can be completely managed by IT.

Google Play for Work – It allows businesses to securely deploy and manage apps across all users running Android for Work, simplifying the process of distributing apps to employees and ensures that IT approves every deployed app.

Built-in productivity tools – For everyday business tasks, we’ve created a suite of business apps for email, contacts and calendar, which supports both Exchange and Notes and provides document editing capabilities for documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
