Govt focusing on education, economy, energy: Ishaq

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance, Ishaq Dar has said that the government was focusing on improving education, economy, energy and addressing the issues of extremism in the country.

“Promotion of quality education would help boost economy besides resolve the matter of energy and extremism,” he stated while talking to a private news channel. He said that the government is working to reduce budget deficit adding that all political parties should play their role in this regard.

Minister said that present government would try to achieve target for economic growth in the next fiscal year.

Ishaq Dar said that work for launching different energy projects is in progress to meet growing demand of electricity in the country.

He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is taking keen interest for the development of all the neglected areas.

The government had given incentives in the agriculture and industrial sectors to provide employment to youth.

Ishaq Dar said that sit-ins and protest demonstration launched by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), had badly hit the national economy.

He said that the government has provided subsidy to the people of Gilgit- Baltistan for purchasing wheat at affordable rates.

Replying to a question Federal Minister said that foreign reserves is showing upward trend due to the dynamic policies of the PML-N government.
