Govt planning to abolish four posts of FBR Members

ISLAMABAD: Government is planning to abolish four posts of Members while several posts will be merged under the restructuring plan of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), it is learnt here.

Official sources told Customs Today that the federal government is planning to abolish the post of Member Human Resource Management, Member Information Technology, and Members Inland Revenue Policy and also planning to merge Member Accounting and Member Audit to Member FATE, Member Strategic Planning and Member Research and Statistics to make one post of Member FBR.

Sources further said that the government is considering make Member Human Resource Management and Member Admin as one post of Member Admin.

Meanwhile, government wants to remove the post of Member Information Technology and will appoint an expert from private sector as IT executive in FBR. Government is also planning to separate the Tax Administration and Policy and sacking the post of Member Inland Revenue Policy.

Sources told that government is also in reviewing to merge the post of Member Legal and Member Legal & Accounting Customs which was earlier held by Member Sarwat Tahira Habib.
