ATHENS: Greece Customs arrested a smuggler seized around 1220 kgs of Hashish. The arrest took place at approximately 2.00 in the morning during a routine patrol on the coast of Isla Cristina when they observed a 4-by-4 vehicle travelling without the headlights being switched on and approached to investigate further.
It didn’t take much detective work to spot 40 large bundles of hashish which occupied most of the interior if the vehicle, and were later found to weigh 1,220 kilos. The man is to be charged with offences against public health, and investigations are ongoing into how he came to be in possession of the drugs and why he took so little care to conceal them!
