The ELSTAT report noted that 5,299 individuals in Greece had found employment between January and February of 2019, while approximately 100,000 people who had been unemployed one year ago now have jobs.

Greece still has a wide gap between the genders in terms of employment.

The unemployment rate among women was 23.3 percent in February, while among men it fell to 14.8 percent.

Still, the youngest age group, between 15 and 24 years of age, has the highest unemployment rate, which reached 38.8 percent in February, down from 46 percent in February of 2018.

Greece remains the country with the highest unemployment in the entire Eurozone, followed by the nation of Spain.
