TOKYO: Hazelight Studios has unveiled new details for their upcoming game that will be built utilizing the amazing benefits of Unreal Engine 4. Some of the details for the upcoming game are unbelievable such as the team that designed the game had no prior hands on experience with UE4.

Hazelight Studios, who recently announced the formation of their studio and publishing partnership with EA, today revealed that their upcoming game is being built using Unreal Engine 4. Hazelight is made up of the core team behind the innovative and critically acclaimed Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons, developed with Unreal Engine 3, and the team recently created a buzz when it revealed a teaser for their brand new game at The Game Awards on December 5. Built in Unreal Engine 4 entirely from scratch, by a team of only three people in less than three weeks, the teaser was shot from inside the engine with no added CG or post-editing. The team had little to no prior hands-on experience with UE4, which serves as a true testament to the power and accessibility of the engine itself.

“Unreal Engine 4 is such a natural fit for us at Hazelight; we are a small team with very high ambitions. With the help of such a powerful yet easy to use game engine, we know that our vision will be fully realized on this new generation of gaming hardware,” said Josef Fares, Game Director and CEO of Hazelight. “The things we’ve been able to accomplish with UE4 less than two months into production are simply amazing!”

Unreal Engine 4 is rapidly becoming the go-to engine for teams of any size looking to make beautiful games that stand out from the crowd. With UE4’s comprehensive toolset, developers can create experiences spanning all genres, aesthetic styles and platforms.

“We’re thrilled that the Hazelight team has chosen to use Unreal Engine 4 for their next project,” said Mike Gamble, European Territory Manager, and Epic Games. “As massive fans of Brothers we were humbled to hear that they wanted to use Unreal, and we can’t wait to see the emotional, story-driven experience that comes from it.”
