TOKYO: Honda has showed off a teaser sketch of a new crossover concept; the upcoming SUV will be unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show.
Few details have been outlaid at this stage, but Honda does tell us that the concept was penned by its Chinese design team.
Honda also says the concept is one that we have not seen before, which previews a new SUV developed exclusively for the Chinese market.
Front styling appears to mirror Honda’s corporate face, seen in the City, Odyssey and Civic, while the side profile could have a few similarities with the new Honda HR-V.
Powertrain specifications are unknown at this stage, but the HR-V’s 105kW/172Nm 1.8 litre four-cylinder petrol engine and CVT automatic could potentially point fans in the right direction.
Otherwise, visitors to the Honda stand in Shanghai can expect to see the new City, CR-V and the US-spec Accord Hybrid models, along with an Odyssey special-needs vehicle and a McLaren F1 racer.
