Hong Kong shares up 0.20%, China Hang Seng surges 47 points

HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares increased 0.20 percent on Monday following a regional rally due to healthy gains on Wall Street fuelled by bargain-buying.

The Hang Seng Index increased 47.05 points to 23,070.26 on turnover of HK$53.01 billion ($6.84 billion). Chinese stocks shut  at 0.66 percent as the country’s Communist Party held a key meeting, with dealers hoping for reforms to boost the economy. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index went higher at 15.55 points to 2,356.73 on turnover of 141.8 billion yuan ($23.2 billion).
