HONG KONG: Hong Kong equities ended 0.37 per cent higher Tuesday, tracking a strong rally in Shanghai and following another record close in New York.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 102.29 points to end at 27,693.54 on turnover of HK$136.03 billion (US$17.55 billion). And in mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index surged 3.13 per cent, or 134.06 points, to 4,417.55 on turnover of 693.8 billion yuan. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, gained 2.63 per cent, or 65.83 points, to 2,567.29 on turnover of 699.4 billion yuan.
