NEW YORK:Owner of an HTC One (M7) or One (M8) and have not received the Android Lollipop update yet. While the update rolled out starting January 28 to HTC One (M8) users in Europe, U.S. users have yet to see an update which means HTC failed on their 90 day update.

In a post on the HTC website, Mo Versi (Vice President, Product Management) provided an update to the delay.

We’ve been working hard in the labs with Google and our carrier partners ever since the code release and are making great progress so far, but if you’ve been following the progress of this rollout you will know that Google has had to address several issues with this release. We’ve been diligently working to fix some of them on our end and incorporating Google’s fixes as quickly as possible, but despite everyone’s best efforts some carrier versions of the HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7) will not meet our 90 day goal, which is February 1st. While we are committed to delivering within this time period, we are even more committed to ensuring these updates result in an even better experience with your device because that is what the updates are intended to do.

Versi went on to indicate that Lollipop has been rolled out to HTC One (M8) Google Play, Unlocked, and Developer editions but this would be a pretty small number compared to One (M8) owners who were expecting the update within the promised 90 day update period.

On the other hand, Motorola, LG and even Samsung (in some markets) have had no issues in rolling out Lollipop to owners of their respective devices.

HTC owners are understandably upset, and it doesn’t appear that HTC is doing anything to appease them at this point.
