BUDAPEST: Agriculture producer prices dropped by 8.0% in April of this year, as compared to the same month in 2014. Within this, the prices of live animals and animal products decreased by 9.0%, and that of crop products fell by 7.4%.
In April 2015, as compared to the same month a year earlier, the price of potatoes fell by 28%, the price of cereal fell by 16% and the price of fresh fruits fell by 9.5%, while the price of fresh vegetables rose by 17%.
The producer price level of live animals decreased by 6.4%, with the producer price of pigs for slaughter falling by 12% and that of poultry for slaughter by 3.0%. In the animal products category, the price of fresh eggs increase by 7.3%, while milk prices decreased by 20%, KSH reported.
