BUDAPEST: The Budapest Stock Exchangeʼs main BUX index showed little direction on Wednesday, flirting with the break-even mark for much of the session and finishing up 0.01% at 22,389.83.
OTP Bank dipped 0.22% to HUF 5,550 on turnover of HUF 3.7 bln or almost 60% of the HUF 6.5 bln session total. Oil and gas company MOL inched up 0.03% to HUF 14,950 on turnover of HUF 1.0 bln.
Drugmaker Richter fell 0.45% to HUF 4,604 on turnover of just under HUF 1 bln, while Magyar Telekom climbed 1.65% to HUF 432 on turnover of a little more than HUF 640m. The BUX was outpaced by Western Europeʼs biggest indices, but it outperformed other bourses in the region. In the Czech Republic, the Prague PX finished down 0.22% and Warsawʼs WIG 20 was down 0.82%.
