Hyderabad ASO seizes smuggled fireworks items worth Rs 3,00,000

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized smuggled fireworks of different kinds worth Rs 3,00,000 during an operation in Hyderabad.

ASO Hyderabad foils a bid to smuggle 1005 kilograms of fireworks, which was on the way to Lahore from Quetta.

Sources told Customs Today that ASO Hyderabad has conducted raid on the directions of collector Customs Hyderabad Dr. Ahmed Mujtaba Memon. ASO team headed by Additional Collector Customs Hyderabad Umar Shafique and Deputy Superintendent Sikander Akbar Pahnwar ASO Hyderabad constituted a raiding party comprising seizing officer Khair Mohammad Pathan and inspector Momin shah who has taken part in operation.

ASO team intercepted a vehicle of M/s Pak International Goods Transport Company in Hyderabad and recovered smuggled items fireworks. The official asked the driver to produce any legal document about the possession of said items but accused couldn’t able to produce any legal documentary evidence of the said fireworks.

ASO has registered a report and started further investigation in this regard.
