Hyderabad ASO seizes smuggled items worth Rs 15 million in May

HYDERABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad’s Anti-Smuggling Organisation has confiscated smuggled items and impounded ten non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs 15.16 million in May, 2015.

As per details, ASO team under the supervision of Collector Ahmad Mujtaba Memon and Assistant Collector Shahid Iqbal, comprising Superintendent Nadeem Usmani, Deputy Superintendent Sikandar Akbar Phanwar, Inspector Khair Mohammad Pathan, Inspector Momin Shah, Mohammad Ali Lohar, Abdul Sattar Lako, Qazi touseef, Aqeel Hussain and other took effective measure to curb menace of smuggling in the region.

ASO team impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser bearing Registration No. Bc-6566, Toyota Hilux bearing Registration No. IXH-1403, unregistered Toyota Cygnus Jeep, Toyota Crown bearing Registration No.A-8771, Toyota Mark bearing Registration No. X-50, Toyota Hilux Surf bearing Registration No.BD-9450, an unregistered Toyota Sera, Toyota Hilux double cabin bearing Registration No. WAH-714 and other vehicles during various operations in the region.

Besides, ASO also confiscated 97 cartons of foreign origin smuggled shampoos during May, 2015. ASO team seized 54,000 litres of smuggled diesel in Hyderabad.
