Hyderabad I&I impounds six luxury non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs11.1m during June

HYDERABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) successfully executed  an intelligence based operation (IBO) resulting into impounding of six number of high end luxury non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs11.1 million during the month of June 2019 from district Shaheed Benazirabad, Nawabshah.

Sources told Customs Today that the impounded vehicles are tabulated here included (I) Honda civic car bearing registration No LW-838 model 2007 worth Rs 1.7 million, (II) Toyota Allex  corolla  car bearing registration no:o BAK-625 model 2002 worth Rs1.5 million, (III) Suzuki Jimny jeep bearing registration No BF-3392 model 1998 market value 1.3 million, (IV) Toyota Premio car bearing registration No ATH-771  model 2003/04 worth Rs 1.6 million, (V) Toyota Hilex Surf  bearing registration No AFR-o17 model 2004 worth Rs 3.5 million and (VI) Toyota Belta car  bearing registration No AVY-025  model  2006 worth Rs 1.5 million.

Pursuing a credible information passed on by Director General Muhammad Zahid Khokhar and supervised by Director Dr Sadiqullah Khan and Additional Director Syed Naeem Akhtar a team of the directorate headed by Shah Faisal Sahu deputy director Tariq Rafique Superintendent (ASO) and Syed Shafiq Ali & Zaigham Ali Shah intelligence officer raided six different location in district  Shaheed Benazirabad.

Sources told the directorate conducted the operation with the assistance of Sindh Rangers who obliged by deputing their two squads with uniformed personnel to accompany the directorate’s team. The six-hour long operation by the directorate team resulted into recovery of six number of high-end luxury vehicles in the drive against non-duty paid vehicles and other contraband goods. It was the fifth intelligence based operation carried out successfully by the directorate during last two months. This directorate has conducted these joint operations against non-duty paid vehicles in Nausheroferoz, Jamshoro, Dadu and Sanghar districts with the assistance of Sindh police. So far 15 non-duty paid vehicles have been detained/seized as result of these intelligence based operations  the directorate seized goods worth Rs 400 million and contributed in terms of revenue and prevention during the financial years.

Director Dr Sadiqullah Khan appreciated the swift action of the ASO team Hyderabad who seamlessly executed the operation in good coordination with Sindh Rangers and reiterated his resolve to continue such intelligence based operations periodically in other parts under jurisdiction  of this directorate of customs intelligence & investigation Hyderabad.
