NEW YORK: Startling new images of short-lived space ‘ghosts’ have been captured by NASA’s Hubble space telescope.
The recent images show massive green masses looping around eight active galaxies.
They have been identified as the ghosts of quasars – celestial bodies emmitting huge amounts of energy – which came to life then faded, Astronomy Now reports.
The wispy structures could have been lit up by ultraviolet radiation from a supermassive black hole, scientists say.
