KARACHI: Importers said they were facing difficulty in import of eatables.
Talking to Customs Today, they said it was mandatory for them to get a certificate of Pakistan Standard and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA). However, the Appraisement-West Group-I does not accept the certificate. The Group-I has a list of 80 t0 85 essentials, they added.
“If we import something that does not fall in their list then we are troubled.” They appealed to the customs high-ups to resolve the issue.
On the other hand, a Group-I official, seeking anonymity, said, “We do not harass the importers. We, however, insist on the PSQCA list.”
