Imran Khan vows to collect Rs8,000b tax if elected to power

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has pledged to the nation to collect Rs8,000 billion tax from the country and bring reforms in health sector after getting into power.

“The collected money will be spent on children of Pakistan. I will show to make Pakistan stand on its feet. Pakistani people give me most of the donation (for hospital),” he said while addressing an election rally in Bhara Kahu, Islamabad.

He said half of the Pakistan’s income went into corruption. The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) could not eradicate money embezzlement as they were themselves involved in it. “Asif Zardari is a well-known personality (for corruption). The PPP and PML-N have taken turns for rule over the country. They pushed it deeper into the quagmire of debts,” he said.

The PTI chief said value of Pakistani rupee depreciated and dollar climbed to Rs125 from Rs60. He also pointed out towards the looming crisis of water shortage.

Imran expressed resolve to bring reforms in education sector as well. He said the children studying in government schools did not get to high posts for poor education. He said 90 percent of students were studying on scholarship in NAMAL University. He said the PTI government would improve standard of government hospitals where mostly poor people go.
