BRASILIA: A Brazilian woman has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in Mumbai for allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine into India by concealing it in her stomach. “We have detained Brazilian national Pinto Karlaines for smuggling 450 grams of cocaine from Sao Paulo,” said an NCB official. On a tip-off, NCB officials intercepted Pinto at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Her medical examination at the government-run J J Hospital revealed that she was carrying eight capsules in her stomach. “The doctors flushed out the capsules and she is presently under medical observation,” said the official, adding that she will be arrested after being discharged from the hospital. NCB sources said it was Pinto’s third trip to India carrying the drugs
