NEW DELHI: Indian Customs seized smuggled gold bars weighing 6 kilograms at Chennai International Airport.
Seven persons, including the managing director of a private security agency that guards the air cargo complex, were arrested.
The gold was being smuggled from Singapore, on a Tiger Airways flight. Acting on a tip-off, customs officials identified the parcel. When a member of the private security agency was about to unpack the consignment, he was caught red-handed. On questioning, he confessed to being involved in smuggling.
