DELHI: Indian Marine cop searching the drug seizure from personal locker of constable, Dharma Kalokhe, have named a customs officer as the person who supplied the narcotics to dealer named Baby Patankar.

Kalokhe, who was with the Marine Drive police station’s intelligence wing, was caught with 110 gm of mephedrone – also known as M-Cat or meow meow, a new drug that is fast becoming a big menace – from his Satara home; 12 kg of white powder was also found from his locker at the police station.

It blew the lid off a thriving drug racket in the state and city that also involved Patankar. Kalokhe, it is believed, used to ensure Patankar could run her racket without the police getting hold of her. On Wednesday, Kalokhe was produced in court and the police sought for his custody to be extended. The remand application says that the police have found that a Customs officer named Suryawanshi supplied the contraband to Patankar, who is still absconding and they are yet to get details about him.

The remand application points out that Patankar is wanted in drug cases at Vasai and Worli, besides the cases in Satara and Marine Drive.

The application also says that Philippine and Indonesian currency notes were found from Kalokhe’s locker.

The police have issued a lookout notice against Patankar, and they are trying to find out who Suryavanshi is. The cops suspect that he was supplying drugs for Patankar in hotels, and that a huge international drug syndicate is involved. Patankar’s family members and relatives are being questioned.
