MUMBAI: The rupee declined 16 paise to 61.91 against the Greenback in early trade on Thursday at the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market due to appreciation of the US dollar overseas.

Forex dealers attributed the rupee’s fall to the American unit’s gains against other currencies overseass and a lower opening in the domestic equity market.
