JAKARTA: The East Kalimantan branch of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN Kaltim) has arrested four people for smuggling two kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from Malaysia.
“We have confiscated two kilograms of shabu-shabu smuggled from Malaysia and arrested four smugglers who have national and international contacts,” BNN Kaltim investigation and prosecution division head Comr. Muhammad Daud said here the other day.
Daud said the suspects, identified as As and his wife, IF, and their accomplices Ha and Ru, were arrested on Jl. Adam Malik in Samarinda while transporting the drugs by van from Tarakan.
“As is the mastermind. He was released a month ago from Tarakan penitentiary after serving a year’s jail term for a drug conviction,” he added.
