KARACHI: Various importers have filed 13 applications to lodge FIRs against a few corrupt shipping lines and their agents including officials of Evergreen, Greenpak, KMTC, United Marine, COO PICT Khurram Aziz Khan and Chairman Marine Group Capt. (R) Haleem Siddiqui who was once director of PICT. Now these officials of shipping lines and a few corrupt customs appraisers and principal appraisers have made a strong nexus and they are misusing an ‘illiterate’ person to protect them by writing in their favour on his illegal website.
This nexus of Haleem Siddiqui, Khurram Aziz Khan, others of PICT, KMTC, United Marine Agency, Evergreen Lines and GreenPak is robbing Rs. 15 billion from importers under demurrage and detention charges.
This ‘illiterate’ person cannot even spell the name of the department ‘customs’ properly and he spells it wrongly as ‘custom’ and also he has no connection with ‘news’ as not registered which is a crime to operate as a newspaper. It is mandatory under the law to first procure a declaration from the information ministry to operate as a newspaper.
A person who cannot even write proper English has launched this website only to spread rumors against honest customs officials but also he protects those customs officials who are corrupt and gives him bribe. His so-called ‘news’ organisation has no address where someone can send legal notices.
He speaks against several senior journalists and anchor persons of various high profile TV channels and newspapers so as to malign them and to protect the corruption of this nexus of PICT and shipping lines. His entry into Customs House premises should be banned as irrelevant people are not allowed entry because he is not a clearing agent or importer or registered media person. A letter was written to the chief collector Abdul Rasheed Sheikh to stop entry of this ‘criminal’ in Customs House and all Customs premises.
It is a big question why this ‘illiterate’ person is protecting the corrupt officials like Principal Appraisers Dost Mohammad, Noor Akbar Mahar and others. The matter should be investigated by FBR and customs high-ups as these corrupt officials are giving bribe to this ‘illiterate’ person and using him to malign customs & FBR’s honest officials and blackmail them to get Rs 2000 bribe to run his ‘illegal’ website. This also invites high level investigation against Dost Muhammad and Noor Akbar Khan for secretly supporting an ‘illiterate’ person for hiding their own corruption.
