LONDON: The iPhone 6 has smashed Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, LG G3 through highest sales for a second consecutive month.

The success of Apple’s 4.7-inch handset capped off a trio of podium finishes for the tech giant, with the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C in second and third place respectively. And the iPhone 6 Plus made it four out of the top five handsets for Apple with its berth at position five.

But according to the tracker, which measures live searches, pre-orders and sales on uSwitch and its network of Omio partner sites, the outlook for Apple’s long-time rival Samsung is a lot less sunny.

That’s underscored by the fact that the only Samsung handset in the fun-five is the Galaxy S5, which limped to a disappointing number four despite landing on shop shelves comparatively recently.

More worrying still for a company that has saw profits take another tumble in the last quarter is that the only other Samsung phones to make the top-ten were the Galaxy S4 (8th) and Galaxy Note 4 (10th).

Elsewhere, HTC’s One M8 underlined its sleeper-hit status at position six, while the ageing iPhone 4S rolled back the years to snare position seven and LG’s G3 made an appearance at number nine.
