SLIGO: A man has been arrested and quantities of cocaine, cannabis and cash seized in Sligo.
The 53-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday evening when gardaí stopped and searched a car at Lagan Drive, Sligo, as part of an ongoing drugs operation.
Cocaine and cannabis with an estimated street value of more than €24,000, pending analysis, was recovered.
The man was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Ballymote Garda station. He can be held for up to seven days.
During follow-up searches at a number of homes in the Sligo town area, gardaí seized €91,000 in cash and small quantities of cocaine and cannabis.
