LAHORE: Pakistan imported items worth Rs 73,1969,137 from India via Wagha border during second trading week of October of current year, according to documents available with Customs Today.
Pakistan imported potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, polyethylene etc during October 8 to 15 from India. According to available documents, Pakistan purchased 64,297 kilo gram (kg) potatoes worth Rs306,1910 via Wagha Border during October 8-15. No duty has been imposed on the import of potatoes from India by the local government. Similarly, Pakistan imported 10,420,670 kg tomatoes worth Rs 491,166,213, while Rs 2,946,9975 was generated by getting income tax on tomatoes import from India via Wagha border. On the other hand, Rs 3,640,887 worth garlic has been imported and income tax on garlic remained Rs 218,453 during second trading week of October of current fiscal year.
Documents show that Pakistan imported 20,710 kg fruits (H.S Code 709-6000) from India worth Rs 1446,172 through the Wagha border while Rs 72,309 as paid duty and income tax Rs 91,109 was collected. Carbon dioxide worth Rs 6129208 was imported in second week of October of this year from India via Wagha border. Pakistan Customs received duty, sales tax and income tax Rs 306,460, Rs 1,094,063 and Rs 184,982 on the import of carbon dioxide respectively.
Pakistan imported polyethylene having gravity less than 0.94 of Rs 2,156,008 from India trough wagha border during October’s second week while the customs collected Rs 97,020 as duty, Rs 383,015 as sales tax, Rs 67,591 as additional sales tax and Rs 162,218 as income tax.
Besides that, Pakistan also imported cotton yarn worth Rs 20,395,688, Polypropylene worth Rs 101232083, oil-cake and other solid residues worth Rs 8,781,218 and spices worth Rs 106,564,548 during second trading week October 8-15of current fiscal year. As a whole, Pakistan import stands at Rs 7,31,969,137 while total paid duty remained Rs 21,454,982, sales tax Rs 19,921,971, additional sales tax Rs 103,932 and income tax Rs 40,384,853 from October 8 to 15 October trading from India via Wagha Border.
