KINGSTON: The police are reporting the seizure of 1,000 pounds of ganja on the Spur Tree main road in Manchester.
Lawmen were on an operation when the driver of a motor car with two passengers aboard, was signalled to stop. He complied, however, one of the men ran from the vehicle.
The other two men, along with the vehicle, were searched and a bucket containing the quantity of compressed ganja found. The drug has an estimated street value of J$5 million.
Both men were arrested. However, the police say their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
