AMMAN: Iyad Al-Qassir, advisor at Water Authority of Jordan, said that the country plans to pump investments worth $2 billion in sewage projects over the coming twenty years.

On the sidelines of the MENA Water Forum in Abu Dhabi, he added that the projects will include establishment of sewerage networks and purification plants and maintenance of current stations during the period of 2015-2035. Al-Qassir added that Jordan is planning to implement projects to use treated sewage effluent, in order to meet water demand for agriculture, which currently accounts for two thirds of domestic water use.
