AMMAN: Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Maha Ali, and Deputy under Secretary for International Trade at the U.S. Department of Commerce Ken Hyatt, met today to discuss ways to boost Jordan-U.S. economic cooperation.
During the meeting, attended by the U.S. ambassador in Amman, Alice Well, Jordan’s official stressed the importance of increasing economic cooperation between the two countries and optimizing the Jordan-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which had the greatest impact on increasing bilateral trade volume, especially the Jordanian exports to the US market.
She also highlighted the support provided by the United States to Jordan in many economic areas which contributed towards strengthening the capacity of the national economy to face challenges, especially in the current circumstances. Further, she asked for support to Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO ) which promotes small projects and creative ideas to stimulate the business environment and provide job opportunities for Jordanians.
