“A legal team is present with Anwar at the police station,” Rizvi added.

Anwar lives in London and is associated with MQM chief Altaf Hussain for about two decades. He is a member of the MQM’s coordination committee.

On the other hand, London Metropolitan police also confirmed today the detention of a 64-year-old man from northwest London as part of an ongoing investigation into money-laundering case against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain.

On June 3 2014, the London Police had nabbed Altaf Hussain from his residence in North-West London when they conducted raid MQM International Secretariat in connection with the murder of Imran Farooq, member of MQM and recovered nearly £250,000.
