DHAKA: Mahbubul Alam, president of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry and vice-president of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, has been elected the vice-president of Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 2016-17.
Mahbubul Alam is also the vice-chairman of Confederation of Eastern Chambers of Commerce and Industry and governing body member of Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority.
Born in 1958 in Raozan upazila of Chittagong, Mahbubul Alam who is also president of Khatunganj Trade and Industries Association is involved with many socio-cultural activities.
Besides, Mahbubul Alam is the permanent member of Chittagong Club Limited, Agrabad Maa O Shishu Hospital, Chittagong Diabetic Association, Chittagong Golf Club Ltd and Chittagong Boat Club.
