KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) expects to receive Goods and Services Tax (GST) return statements from 75,480 GST-registered companies by May 31.
Director General Datuk Seri Khazali Ahmad reminded traders who have not done so to submit their statements from tomorrow until May 31, when all Customs offices will be open from 8am to 6pm daily including on Saturday and Sunday.
In a statement here today, he said the reminder complies with Section 41(1) of the Goods and Services Act 2014.
Khazali said businesses with annual taxable income exceeding RM5 million must submit their GST return statement monthly.
Companies with annual taxable income of less than RM5 million, however, have to submit their statement every three months: by May 31 for financial period ending January, April, July and October; by June 30 for financial period ending February, May, August and November; and by July 31 for financial period ending March, June, September and December.
