MCCI holds awareness session for promotion of trade through Pakistan Single Window

MULTAN: Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has organized an awareness session regarding promotion of trade through Pakistan Single Window.

During session Domain Officer of Pakistan Single Window, Deputy Collector Customs Laraib Ghaffar informed the participants about Pakistan Single Window through multimedia. He said that the Government of Pakistan has launched the Pakistan Single Window Electronic Portal under the World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, under which now businessmen and companies will upload all their trade related information on the Pakistan Single Window through which all the information related to their trade will be uploaded.

After loading their information various Trade regulatory bodies will be able to approach their concern vendors at time of need. Deputy Collector Laraib Ghaffar said that Pakistan Single Window initiative led by Pakistan Customs aims at reducing the time and cost of doing business by digitalizing Pakistan’s cross border trade and eliminating paper based manual processes.

He further informed that 77 trade regulatory bodies are on board with Pakistan Single Window which will no longer have to provide separate information to banks, customs and other institutions. So far 62000 people have subscribed to Pakistan Single Window portal and now all commercial banks.

 He also informed the participants about Single Declaration, OGA, Trade Information Portal. Addressing the awareness session of Pakistan Single Window, President MCCI Mian Rashid Iqbal said that PSW has registered different trade business on Single Window and they will be approached by different vendors if required any assistance. Government has made registration process simple and easy for the facilitation of trade. He further stated that Pakistan Single Window is a newly introduced trading system that will set up trouble-free for business people and they can save their time by taking advantage of this facility further.

He said that Pakistan Single Window provides a facility to the parties involved in trade and transport to enter standard information and documents with a single entry point. Business community can easily meet all regulatory requirements related to import, export and transit trade through Single Window.
