Mercedes to kick start GLA production in China with $5b investment

BEIJING: At the start of 2015, Mercedes-Benz, in a joint venture with China’s Beijing Benz Automotive Co (BBAC), would launch production of GLA in the country.

Additional Mercedes-Benz compact cars will be built in the Asian nation with just over $5 billion investment into the Chinese production facility by 2015. A further $1.27 billion will be used to kick start production of further compact cars from Mercedes-Benz.
