MEXICO CITY: Container traffic in Mexico’s ports grew by 16.8% during the first month of the year, according to data published by the transport and telecommunications ministry (SCT).
The national port system handled almost 440,000 TEUs in January, compared to some 376,000 the same month a year ago.
The January growth figures for container shipments were well above the average for 2014, which saw TEUs in Mexico rise 4% to 5.07mn.
