MEXICO CITY: A Mexican national arrested more than a year ago for attempting to import methamphetamine and heroin through a local international crossing has been sentenced in federal court in Laredo to 10 years in prison.
An indictment filed Feb. 4, 2014 charged the 55 year man, Sergio Cobaruvias-Romero, with four counts of conspiracy to import meth and heroin, two counts of possession with intent to distribute meth and heroin and two counts of importation of meth and heroin.
