MEXICO CITY: The Mexican government said Tuesday that it will invest 23 billion U.S. dollars over the next three years to upgrade the state-owned petroleum company Pemex.
According to Pemex, the investment will help cut the sulphur content in its gasoline and reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by its refineries by 90 percent.
“This investment will allow Pemex to modernize itself and generate 73,000 jobs,” Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said.
